Our Privacy Policy: SageTV, LLC ('SageTV") is committed to respecting the privacy of those who visit our Web site and use our software products.  We have created this Privacy Policy ('Policy") to provide visitors ('Visitors") to our Web site and users ('Users") of our software with an explanation of our commitment to protecting Visitor and User privacy. This Policy describes how SageTV collects information from Visitors and Users who access our Services ('Services"), what information we collect, how we use the information collected and the limited circumstances in which the information collected are provided to third parties.

Privacy Policy Coverage: Our Policy is applicable to our Web site, our products SageTV and SageRecorder and our SageTV service. This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that SageTV does not own or control, nor does it apply to those people that SageTV does not employ or manage. Any links to sites outside of SageTV may lead our Visitors to sites that are not guided by our Policy.  Visitors are encouraged to view the privacy policies of these Web sites for more information.


E-mail from SageTV: SageTV will never send an e-mail without first obtaining the Visitor's or User's consent. Consent is defined as purchasing our products, signing up for our mailing list, or contacting us directly. Our Visitors and Users may contact us at any time to remove their e-mail address from any or all of our mailing lists by e-mailing us at privacy@sagetv.com.


The Information We Collect: SageTV collects personal information from Visitors and Users who utilize our Services, purchase our Products and from those who complete our feedback form or submit their name to our mailing list.  The information collected includes the Visitor's or User's name, address, telephone number and e-mail address.  This information is not shared with third parties, unless specifically stated otherwise or in special circumstances. We also receive technical information every time a Visitor or User views our Web site or accesses our servers via the SageTV service within the SageTV application.  The information we collect and receive includes the date and time of the visit to our site or servers, what pages are viewed and how long each page is viewed, the Visitor or User's IP address and other various technical statistics.


Security of the Visitor or User's Personal Information: SageTV maintains security measures to protect from loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.  We restrict access to personally identifiable information only to those employees, independent contractors or marketing partners with a specific need to this information.  All data received from our Visitors or Users is stored in a controlled and secure environment. While we make efforts to maintain the security of our Web site and Services, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent third parties from illegally obtaining this information.


How SageTV Uses the Information Collected: SageTV uses the information collected for a number of reasons.  In order to better serve our Visitors, we strive to customize the advertising and content seen on our Web site according to the Visitor's interests.  We will also use personally identifiable information to fulfill requests for products and Services, improve our Services, contact our Visitors and Users and to conduct research. Before downloading any trial version of SageRecorder, we request that our Visitors enter a name and e-mail address so that we may keep them informed of news and updates related to our products.  We request this information so that we can determine who is interested in the software.  Please note that providing personally identifiable information is optional.  Visitors may proceed with the download by entering at least one character for each required field.  Those who enter a valid e-mail address may receive updates when a new version of the software is released or any other related invitations to subscribe to company e-mail lists.

Occasionally, we may conduct individual customer surveys to obtain our Visitors' and User's opinions, comments or suggestions about the Web Site in addition to the products and Services that SageTV provides.  Visitor and User feedback helps us to improve our Services and the manner in which we present them.  Therefore, we encourage full participation in these surveys so that we may continue to provide our Visitors and Users with the best possible Services and products.


Sharing Information and Disclosure with Third Parties: SageTV does not rent, sell or share personally identifiable information about our Visitors or Users with any non-marketing partners except when providing the Visitor or User with the products or Services requested, when we have obtained the Visitor's or User's permission to release private information or under the following circumstances:

1. We reserve the right to provide personal information to marketing partners who work on our behalf or with us under confidentiality agreements.  These companies may use personal information to assist us in communicating offers to our Visitors and Users.

2. We are under the legal obligation to respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process and reserve the right to provide Visitor or User information as so required.

3. We reserve the right to disclose personal information to our legal counsel in order to exercise our own legal claims or in the defense of any legal claims.

4. We reserve the right to disclose personal information in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, conduct investigations of consumer complaints or possible breaches of law or as otherwise required by law.

Cookies and How SageTV, LLC Uses Them: A 'cookie" is a small data file that can be placed on the Visitor's hard drive when visiting certain Web sites.  SageTV may use cookies to collect, store and track information for statistical purposes so that we may improve the products and Services we provide to our Visitors. Advertisers and other third parties may also use their own cookies.  SageTV does not control the use of these cookies and expressly disclaims responsibility for information that is collected through them.


Use of Web Beacons: Some of our web pages may contain electronic images known as Web beacons.  These images enable us to count Visitors who view our web pages and deliver services.  SageTV may also utilize Web beacons in promotional e-mail messages to determine how many messages have been viewed.  Web beacons are not used to collect personally identifiable information about our Visitors.  Rather, the Web beacons collect limited information including a cookie number, time and date a page is viewed and a description of the page on which the Web beacon resides. 


Revisions to Our Policy: SageTV reserves the right to occasionally amend, modify, revise or update our Policy at any time and in any manner as SageTV deems necessary.  When we do, we will revise the 'last updated" date on our Web site.  For material changes to the Policy, SageTV will notify all Visitors by placing a prominent notice on the Web site. Users will also be notified via email if the changes affect the use of the SageTV service.


Controlling Personal Information: At any time, a Visitor or User may change, correct or update any personal information previously given to SageTV by contacting us at privacy@sagetv.com.
