Below you will find the links the current beta releases available for SageTV. New SageTV users may run the beta release for a 21 day trial. Current customers of SageTV Version 5 or 6 will be able to run the full Version 6 beta software. Customers of the full version of SageTV Version 4 or earlier will be able to run the Version 6 beta software for a trial period or may purchase Version 6 upgrade keys here.

All new releases can be installed over a previous release without uninstalling the prior version. SageTV will automatically backup your Sage.properties and Wiz.bin files whenever you upgrade to new versions. These are the important configuration & data files you would want to replace if you had to revert to an older version.

This page will be updated as new beta versions are released. Also review the Release Notes that accompany each version to determine which bugs have been fixed from a previous release. Please direct all information related to bugs you encounter testing beta software to our bug submission form. You can also join in discussions for the latest beta release in our Discussion Forum.

Linux Version 6 Release Candidate

The Version 6 Linux Beta can be installed the same way the V6 Linux software is installed; but the files are in a different folder on a server that you need to download.

The normal Linux install downloads files from:
 download.sage.tv/linuxweb/

to use V6 beta, use the files from here instead:
 download.sage.tv/linuxbeta/

For example, the server.tar.gz and miniclient.tar.gz files can be downloaded from:
http://download.sage.tv/linuxbeta/server.tar.gz and http://download.sage.tv/linuxbeta/miniclient.tar.gz
